Because it’s easier to use, there should be more frequent updates and announcements. It should also be easier to find what you are looking for, due to better search engine optimization.

And lastly, it’s been around 10 years since the site was last built or overhauled and the internet has changed in that time. The site looked out of date, even if the content was timeless.
